Resetting a Forgotten Password
Overview
If you forget your password and your account is not locked, you can use the Forgot Your Password option on the Login page to reset your password.
Important: You may not be able to reset your password from an unregistered browser.
How to Reset a Forgotten Password
Follow these steps to reset your password:

Start the password reset process
On the Login page, do the following:- Click or tap Forgot your password?
- Enter your User ID
- Click or tap Submit

Choose a contact method
Click or tap one of the contact methods that are on file for you. You will receive a code via the contact method that you select. -
Enter the secure access code
On the Secure Access Code page, enter the code and click or tap Submit.Note: If you close out of a session after receiving a secure access code, but before you enter it in the application, and then open it within a very short time frame, click or tap I already have a Secure Access Code.

Create your new password
Enter your new password in the password field. -
Confirm your new password
Re-enter the password in the Confirm Password field. -
Complete the reset
Click or tap Submit.Note: If the Remember Me check box is selected, it blocks you from entering a different User ID.
After Resetting Your Password
Once you’ve successfully reset your password:
- Make sure to save it in your password manager or secure location
- Consider reviewing your password management practices to create strong, memorable passwords
- Update your password on any devices where you’ve saved it
Security Reminders
Stay safe when resetting your password:
- Don’t contact someone claiming to be tech support who reaches out to you
- Don’t share your password with anyone over the phone or email
- Don’t use a “password reset” link from an unsolicited email (it could be phishing)
- Always initiate the password reset yourself from the official Bank of Marin login page
Account Locked?
If your account is locked, you will not be able to reset your password using the self-service option. Please contact us for assistance.
